The Design Miami’s Design Talks program has been revamped to simulate a TV chat show format. The first of three Design Talks featured Tom Dixon, Fernando & Humberto Campana and Arik Levy. Each of them brought five images that then gave reason to discuss design in realation to nature, society, environment and taste.
The brasilian Campana Brothers won this year’s Designer of the Year Award. Their furniture and objects have been produced by companies like Edra, Alessi and Campellini. Tom Dixon says of himself that he became a designer through a series of unexpected events. His work is found in several permanent collections, including MoMA (New York), V&A (London) and Centre Pompidou (Paris). Arik Levy works with his partner Pippo Lionni. Together, they lead their Paris based Company Ldesign.
