Cast In Miami is a collaboration between the CAST programme of the Zurich Universtity of the Arts’ Design Department and NO MAD City Guides.
During the United States’ biggest art shows, Art Basel Miami and Design Miami, a team of CAST-students are blogging and podcasting information, emotions and impressions around the exhibitions, the designers and artists involved, and the people of Miami Beach. All content is viewable here, on www.castinmiami.com, and on additional channels such as youtube.com, kyte.tv, art-tv.ch, facebook.com, flickr.com and twitter.com.
From the 3rd of December until the 7th of December, NO MAD and CAST will be present at two satellite location. Located at the Media Lounge of Design Miami and at the Dynamo Bookshop of the Wolfsonian Museum, CAST will observate, explore and explain Miami Beach. From these satellites, video reports, impressions, features and interviews will be produced by the students and broadcasted to the world day by day. Focussing on the people, their relationship to art and design and the events around the shows, from the Opening Party on December 2nd, to NO MAD’s launch party on December 5th, the daily design lectures and talks, an inside view – or even a personal view – of Miami during this socially exciting week is presented.
